Menstrual & Moisture Undies - Modibodi

If you are still in the dark ages of tampons, you really should try menstrual undies

Menstrual undies have come along way these past few years and Aussie company like Modibodi are world leaders. In innovation, increasingly reliability and amazing product diversity.

Modibodi undies really do work and they offer such a wide range of styles and absorbency - thongs, sports undies, bikinis, high waisted undie, bootleg, maternity - pretty much anything you'd normally buy in pretty much any colour.

Each style absorbs a different amount of liquid - from 1/2 teaspoon to 3 teaspoon. (Assume around a teaspoon to a normal tampon.)

Started in 2013, Modibodi is the brainchild of Kirsty Chong who consulted widely with textile engineers and came up with a range of undies made from materials like bamboo jersey, merino perform wool and microfiber.

THESE HIGH-TECH FIBERS ARE ENGINEERED FOR THEIR COMFORT AND MOISTURE-WICKING PROPERTIES. THE UNDIES HAVE LEAK-PROOF LININGS THAT ARE ALSO ABSORBENT, ANTIMICROBIAL AND STAIN RESISTANT.

There have been a plethora of ranges, styles and innovations as the company has improved the product and widened the range since 2013 to include products for sweat as well as menstruation and leakage.

In 2017, Modibodi released the long awaited light-moderates, replacing the previous moderate range. The new model has a thinner gusset and you now only need one type of undies for both light drips and the occasional sneaky leak.

Along with the usual period bursts, sneaky leaks also includes not quite making it home in time, snort laughing and surprise trampoline or castle jumping - which is definitely a thing with young kids.

Snort laughing is something we all get to no matter what our breeding (yes - editor is a girl & a mother), as we come to terms with the road ahead for our bodies, having had kids and with it, the endless joys of motherhood.

Which is of course where the trampoline and castle come in and most importantly, the solace of sisterhood story telling which generally escalates to hysterical snorting and laughter after discussing some version of the trampoline experience.

AT WHICH POINT IT IS USEFUL TO STILL HAVE THE TRAMPOLINE UNDIES ON.  THANK GOD FOR MODIBODI IS ALL I CAN SAY.

And then there is this pic, below, which I just have to include because I want to be this girl when I grow up. Modibodi's gym range is moisture wicking and odour absorbing and presumably if you keep going to the gym in Modibodi, you'll be able to do this one day.

Modibodi are also big supporters of World Menstrual Day each May, with Share the Dignity. “As a company who sells reusable, cost effective period and leakproof underwear we wanted to help, and so we are selling our underpants at a discounted rate for customers to purchase for women in need. We also donate a percentage of every sale to make our underpants for women in need. We then arrange for the underwear to be put directly in the hands of a woman living in a shelter,” says Kristy Chong Founder, Modibodi.
