White Gum Wool is an Australian producer of Superfine Merino wool committed to excellence in nutrition, a conservation land ethic, and thoughtful animal welfare.
White Gum Wool sheep are raised on a single farm, in the high midlands of Tasmania, where they graze in mostly native pastures to find the plants they need to keep healthy.
Our sheep hang in family groups of grandmas, mamas and lambkins, as sheep are highly social animals and this togetherness make them happy. Mamas teach their babies how to forage in this landscape so they can learn how to balance their own diets and to self-medicate through selective grazing of plants.
White Gum Wool is made into yarn by Design Spun in New Zealand, having first been scoured by Canterbury Wool Scourers. NewMerino ® Chain of Custody certifies the sustainability and traceability of our yarn.
