Welcome to Westgate Biodiversity
Westgate Biodiversity: Bili Nursery & Landcare Inc. is a community-based not-for-profit organisation working to improve the inner Melbourne environment and its biodiversity with locally indigenous vegetation.
We have been doing this since 1996; producing and selling around 100,000 locally indigenous plants from our nursery each year and transforming Westgate Park from a neglected, weedy park to a naturalistic bushland landscape using 320 locally indigenous plant species.
We are located at Westgate Park, Fishermans Bend in Port Melbourne and we have a nursery, in the short term, at 535 Williamstown Road, Port Melbourne.
Our principal purposes, set out in our Rules, are:
enhancing and protecting the natural environment and its biodiversity
educating our members and the wider community on the importance of protecting and enhancing the natural environment, urban biodiversity, and healthy environments by growing and planting locally indigenous plant species and encouraging volunteering and community engagement with the natural environment.
