Perfect Puppy Pillow KapoK filled beds are light weight are super earth friendly. No water, chemicals or fertilisers are used to grow this natural luscious silky like fiber. Because KapoK is naturally anti-bacterial dust mites, lice, fleas and bed bugs cannot live inside the fiber.
KapoK has short silky hollow fibers that are naturally water resistant so any spills or leaks will not soak into the bed/pillow, just remove the cover and wash it and sponge any spills off the cushion then place in the sunshine to dry, refresh and puff back up again. Moisture resistant also means no mold or mildew.

Like all natural fibers KapoK will compact over time with use however KapoK fiber loves a good sunning. A couple of hours in strong sunshine every 2-4 weeks will ensure a light fluffy bed pillow for your dog or cat. Disclaimer: The inner shell of this product is made using calico. Calico is unbleached cotton and as such it is prone to random circular marks. This is a natural occurrence in calico and in no way detracts from the quality of your bolster or zafu.

I could get organic certification for the KapoK fiber in Indonesia and although I have been working, in varying capacities, for 30 years there I know I could not trust its authenticity.
However, I would like to reassure you that I have traced the journey of KapoK fiber from the tree in the village to the cleaning establishments and know in my heart of hearts that there are no chemicals used in the growing or preparation of KapoK fiber.
This is the main reason that I chose to create this natural bedding system for our little pets using KapoK it is naturally organic, chemical free and sustainable. Ticks all my boxes.
KapoK and its cotton shell are also 100% compostable therefore I have coined a phrase from cradle to compost and I stand by it.
In this case the zipper is not compostable. However it is reusable should the bed/pillow/cushion come to the end of its life. Your bed/pillow/cushion will last your little friend up to 5 years before you may wish to reconsider replenishing the KapoK fiber.
Remember to put the pillow/bed/cushion out into the sunshine every few weeks to 'puff/fluff' it back up and refresh it.
The KapoK fiber is sourced by villagers wild gathering the pods across the Indonesian archipelago and doing a preliminary clean before being purchased by a 'middle man' who bales it up and trucks it to port to send to a cleaning centre. Where it is carded/ginned to remove as much of the debris and core as possible. This is the only 'processing' that KapoK needs in order for us to benefit from its chemical free bounty.
We also make Heavenly Head Sleep Pillows, body bolsters & doonas as well as small dog/puppy cat cushions/beds/pillows. These are made here in Australia using Organic cotton or Hemp & Organic cotton and OKEO TEX® fabrics that we buy in Australia and we have local seamstresses who make the shells in our fabulous range that we offer you.

Your pillow/bed/cushion will come to you in a vacuum bag. The clip for the closure is inside your package. You can reuse your vacuum bag or the vacuum bag is polypropylene which is recyclable at most local Coles and Woolworths stores. Cut off the top and the round hard plastic vacuum seal. They have a bin at the front of the shop for soft plastics which goes to Replas in Victoria who has been making garden furniture, fence posts, bollards, decking, walkways in National Parks and other products since 1990. Check it out, I have been using it for over a decade. YAY!
