Dalki Garringa Native Nursery specialises in growing Australian native plants.
Our nursery is located at the old Wail Nursery site, which was established in 1946 by the Victorian Forestry Commission.
Our goals are:
To develop a financially viable nursery business operation;
Generate income for BGLC to increase independence from government funding;
Offer skills development, employment and income for Traditional Owners and the broader Aboriginal community;
Become a major supplier of native plants;
Propagate important local native food plants and other useful species;
Educate children/community to pass on Traditional Ecological Knowledge about plants to future generations;
Restore degraded land.
