Bendigo Foodshare reduces food poverty by sourcing and distributing food to registered schools and agencies who provide to those in need in the community.
Bendigo Foodshare collects donated excess food that would otherwise go to waste. We redistribute it to over 85 community agencies and schools that prepare and distribute fresh food, groceries and meals to those in need. Schools and pre-schools offer children food for their breakfast and lunch programs to ensure that they are provided with their basic nutritional requirements.
We use quality food that may be nearing its use-by date or surplus food that is donated by supermarkets, stores and individuals.
