While the numbers always vary depending on who you ask, it is generally recommended that you drink at least 2 litres of water every day. 

There are a number of benefits associated with drinking water:

  4. Good for joints as water helps lubricate them
  5. Relieves headaches
  6. Relieves fatigue
  7. Flushes toxins out of our system
  8. Makes you feel awake and alert

We lose an estimated 2 litres of water from our body every day. This is though sweat, urination, bowel movements and exhaling air. We lose even more water when we exercise, have diarrhoea, or have a temperature. 

Symptoms of not drinking enough water:

Dry skin
Constipation
Headaches and migraines
Tiredness and fatigue

A great way to tell if you need to drink more water is to look at the clarity of your urine. Clearer urine means that your water intake is good. Whereas darker urine suggests you need to drink more water.
